The Big Issue

BAM! There's a Wall There!

Ok. I've run into kind of a dead end...See business is slow and the ideas just aren't coming. It's like I know I need to get busy and make things but it just doesn't seem to work out. Either something comes up or I just don't feel like doing it. I'm such a procrastinator and I don't really do things until I know they need to be done right away. I've just gotten it in my mind where it's to the point of "Well if I know I get it done...why do it early?" Any of yall feel like that? That's a big issue of mine. No matter how hard I try it just doesn't seem to happen like i plan.

Keep Your Head Up
Now it seems like I all of my ideas have completely gone out the window. Everytime i sit down and try to get ahead making jewelry, I can't think of squat. People can even give me colors they want and still everything I try doesn't look right. So, it's been pretty much horrible here lately. I'm just not getting anything done. I know though if I keep working at it eventually things will get better. It's one of those things you just have to wait out and push through. I'm not getting discouraged, I'm just expressing my problem to readers. It's not just you...it's all of us. Everyone hits a wall at some point...

5 Ways To...

Find A Great Hobby For You!
1) Experiment- If you're totally clueless about what you enjoy. You can start by just simply experimenting with different things. Work with numerous ideas until you find one that you absolutely love!
2) Observe- You can also look at other people's work and see what they've done. If you think it's something that will interest you, go for it!
3) Research- Research different ideas. Look at all the possibilities out there. Once you've found something that's appealing to you get started on it.
4) Already love- These are the things that are quite obvious. If you have something that you love doing, it's obviously your hobby. You're probably very good at it to. Hey, make money off the stuff!
5) Realistic- You want to make sure the hobby you're looking at is actually realistic and something you can do. The biggest thing here would be financially. You don't want to lose money doing something unless it's worth it.

Make Your Product Known!
1) Advertise- Advertising is a big part of the money-making business. Whether it's putting it in the paper or just simply putting up fliers...every little bit counts.
2) Businesses- I personally do this one. You can go around to small city businesses and see if they will let you put your product up in their shop. This is a great way for alot of people to know about you.
3) Ask around- This is one that you want to be careful with. You can ask your friends if they would be interested in looking at your work to see if they like it. Make sure it's people that you're familiar with. The thing you don't want to do though is push people. You don't want to make them feel like your constantly nagging them.
4) Spread the word- In order to make your product known you have to tell people about it. No matter where you are, words always spread fast. Your friends will tell other people who will tell others and so on.
5) Send- For this one you need to have people that you trust involved. We send our jewelry to some of our relatives who are about an hour away and then they can take our stuff and sell them. Most of the time it's like in their office or something. The women always go crazy when they have fun stuff to look at while they're at work!

Don't Wait...

A New Summer Begins!
The summer is always a great time to plan out projects. I strongly encourage everyone to find something they want to do and go for it. People always say "Ok well i'll do it this next week, and then when that week comes they say "Ok, I'll just do it next week." Don't put things off that you want to do. That's the worst habit to get into. Especially when you think you have a really good idea. Go ahead and do it, you could probably actually do something with it, even more than expected. It's time for a new knack to blossom!

A Forgotten Hobby...
I became lazy for a while and wasn't really in the jewelry making mood, but once I finally did, it was so much better. People just flocked to all the new stuff we had been working on. I had almost forgotten how fun it was in the process too. Getting new beads and putting them all together was really cool. You see how things change and what the latest styles are. Not just with jewelry though...you can do that with anything.

What's Your Idea?
No matter what your idea is, it's always great to go ahead and do it. You can see how things change too. It's a great hobby to get into, especially when it brings in a little extra change. You know you're not just wasting your time, because it's something you enjoy doing and you actually get something out of it. Think of something you can do this summer. In the end you'll find out that your time was well spent...

Wide is the Style!

Wide Jewelry
If you watch all the award ceremonies the big trend seems to be the big shiny jewelry. Anything from diamond bulky jewelry to just plain wide band jewelry, it's all in style now. If you look at the celebrities walking the red carpet, they all have on some form of shiny jewelry that easily stands out. Look at Christina Aguilera's necklace, it stands out BIG TIME (which now is the look you want to go for), and the earrings are just enough to top if all off.

Simple, But Enough
Now of course you don't want to be too overdone. If you look at Beyonce' and Rihanna, they just have on a "simple" thick, shiny bracelet. But with their dress that's all they need. It just enough and looks absolutely gorgeous! They didn't over do it by adding a necklace. It's perfect!

Ready for Spring!
Now I'm sure the jewelry these stars have are totally out of your price range, but it's very easy to find thick jewelry that is reasonable. I have a ton. You can find really good deals and it look like it came from a designer! Or if you're going out you can go with some shiny bulky jewelry that looks amazing! I absolutely love it! There's plenty of things you can do to look good for spring. Just remember...wide bands are the best!

The Spring Colors

True Blue!
According to some, it looks like the color for spring is going to be shades of blue. Blue is a great color. It looks great in so many different ways. Two really
popular shades of blue are topaz and aquamarine. Both are absolutely gorgeous jewelry colors, and it works for almost everybody. You can have the lighter shade, or go with the darker. I personally like the lighter ones like these. It has more of a spring feel to it.

Purple

Anoth
er popular color for this spring is said to be light purple. Again, the lighter colors are very popular because they have more of a spring effect. Purple actually isn't worn that often, but I'm really glad it's coming into style because it's one of my favorite colors for jewelry. People don't realize how pretty it is because it's not a color you see everyday. These two colors are definitely colors you need to look for for the spring.
